Sega Corporation
Executive Summary
Customer Name: Sega Corporation
Industry: Video Games / Entertainment
Location: Tokyo, Japan
Customer Profile: Sega Corporation is a globally recognized entertainment and video game company operating arcade and amusement infrastructure across Asia. As part of expanding its ALL.Net network environment, Sega required a scalable way to deploy and manage network devices across distributed remote locations.
Background
As Sega expanded its ALL.Net infrastructure connecting amusement centers across Asia, the company faced growing operational challenges surrounding remote device deployment and configuration management.
At the time, engineers were traveling onsite to install and configure Cisco routers manually. Device setup time varied significantly depending on operator experience, creating operational overhead, configuration inconsistencies, and unnecessary travel costs.
According to Takashi Utsumi, Assistant Team Manager of Sega’s Sales Support Team:
“When we started, we were sending engineers overseas onsite to configure the network devices. We were spending almost 30 minutes or more to configure a device depending on the operator's skill level, but Net LineDancer cut down the time to 5 minutes.”
The Solution
Sega selected Net LineDancer Enterprise with Zero-Touch automation capabilities to remotely deploy and standardize network device configurations across its distributed environments.
Using Zero-Touch provisioning, Sega was able to automatically configure remote Cisco routers immediately after deployment without requiring engineers to manually configure devices onsite.
The deployment also helped Sega centralize operational procedures, reduce dependency on a small number of highly specialized engineers, and improve configuration consistency across locations.
Results and Benefits
Following deployment, Sega was able to:
- Reduce network deployment and configuration costs across overseas locations
- Decrease device configuration time from approximately 30 minutes to 5 minutes per device
- Improve configuration standardization and reduce manual configuration errors
- Reduce dependency on onsite engineering visits through remote provisioning workflows
- Improve operational scalability for distributed arcade and amusement infrastructure
Net LineDancer became an important operational tool supporting Sega’s distributed network infrastructure across Asia.
